Clinical pathology entails the laboratory examination of bodily tissues, fluids, or blood to detect disease. Blood chemistries, complete blood counts, blood clotting times, urinalysis, faecal tests, cultures, and infectious disease testing are examples of common laboratory tests.
The on-site laboratory at our animal hospital enables our veterinarians to carry out many of these diagnostic procedures promptly for an accurate and timely diagnosis. This is crucial for animals that are critically unwell and in need of emergency care. An outside veterinary laboratory may need to conduct some more specialized testing.
Results from our on-site laboratory can be obtained quickly. Depending on the type of test being performed, specialized testing may require 12 to 24 hours for blood results.
